Description: This class is intended to introduce the student to the new emission fuel system now standard on Caterpillar and Mitsubishi small IC units. Also included, a general discussion on exhaust emissions and a presentation on the open look fuel system presently used exclusively on Home Depot trucks. CLASS CODE 7210 - FRONT END INSPECTION

Description: This training program will provide the learner with a comprehensive inspection program to thoroughly inspect the front end components of a lift truck, for wear and damage. This program will also address eight front-end sub-systems involving 60 different components.
    The sub-systems include:
  1. Forks
  2. Carriage
  3. Side shift carriage
  4. Load backrest extension
  5. Mast
  6. Lift Chain
  7. Hoses and hose reels
  8. Tilt and lift cylinders
Skills Taught/Student will be able to:
  • Completing a thorough front-end inspection of all major components.
  • Determine what needs to be repaired or replaced.
  • Explain to the customer why action should be taken to repair or replace these items.
Prerequisites: none
Class Period:½ day
Testing: Student evaluations are based on classroom and shop display of competency and understanding. Grading is based on pass or fail.

7262Troubleshooting Vehicle Systems

CLASS CODE 7262 - VEHICLE SYSTEMS

Description: This course will teach basic fundamentals of operation, troubleshooting, and proper repair on a variety of various lift truck Engines, transmissions, hydraulic and electrical systems. Included are: LP and diesel systems, starting and charging systems, ignition systems and basic engine performance testing. Also, power shift transmission inspection, pressure tests, stall tests, and inching valve adjustment will be performed. In addition, basic lift truck hydraulic system components, schematics, basic preliminary pressure checks and analysis exercises on the lift truck will be done. Skills Taught/Student will be able to:
  • Basic trouble shooting techniques.
  • LP system theory.
  • Proper use of tooling and gauges.
  • Basic schematics and symbol reading.
Prerequisites: None
Class Period:4 days
Testing: At the conclusion of this course the student must pass with a score of 75% or better on a written test and be able to describe and / or demonstrate their knowledge of the subject matter to qualify for a certificate of completion.

CLASS CODE 8050 - Generac Generators

Description: This is a Generac Power Systems Factory Certified class. At successful completion of the session, the student will receive a certificate from Generac Corporation.

After completing this class, the student will:
  • Understand basic AC power theory and generating principles.
  • Be able to inspect a Generac unit for proper installation.
  • Be able to make any and all adjustments to a generating unit.
  • Be familiar with Generac's full line of products.
  • Understand the operation of a generator. Be able to run a computer attached to the generator.
Prerequisites: None required. Knowledge of engine operation and electrical principles is recommended.
Class Period:5 days
Testing: At the end of the course, the student must be able to pass a written test with a score of 70 percent or better. A factory certificate will be issued with the successful completion of the course.

Description: This class will cover the new three-four wheel Jungheinrich electric truck from Cat. We will cover all changes made to this new truck from the older design. Class will learn new electronic controls and troubleshooting procedures. Class will learn electronic controls and troubleshooting procedures for this newest line of Cat products. Also covers the software program.

  • Use laptop diagnostics to identify faults on the electronic systems
