CLASS CODE 911 SAFETY COURSE

Description: Class room includes lecture, student interaction and hands-on regarding all related issues while working in, on or around the material handling service industry.

Skills Taught/Student will be able to:

  •   Proper jacking of multiple lift trucks.
  •   Proper chaining and supporting of masts and rails.
  •   Proper blocking of chassis.
  •   Understand OSHA & ANSI Standards.
  •   Ability to point out unsafe situations.

CLASS CODE 950 CUSTOMER RELATIONS

Description: This course is intended for the road technicians and those ready to go on the road. We will cover proper paperwork procedures including time cards, maintenance reports, new truck warranty procedures, etc. Dealing with customers and handling different types of customer personalities will also be discussed.

Skills Taught/Student will be able to:

  • Properly complete time cards
  • Properly complete maintenance reports legibly and thoroughly.
  • Technicians learn their role in warranty procedures in new & used trucks.
  • Conduct themselves professionally in different situations dealing with different customer personalities.

CLASS CODE 1000 LINDE E18 – E20 346 SERIES

Description: This class will cover the Linde A/C Drive, Hydraulic and Steering features and the theory of operation. Complete explanation of LINDE electrical coordinate schematics, location of components on the unit, and a thorough understanding of the LINDE Pathfinder software with a laptop computer to diagnose and identify source of problems and make parameter adjustments to suit customer needs. Skills Taught/Student will be able to:

  • Setting and adjusting Parameters using Linde Pathfinder software.
  • Proper testing of electrical components.
  • Extensive electrical circuit testing.
  • roper troubleshooting techniques using the Pathfinder software along with schematics.

CLASS CODE 1053 PLANNED MAINTENANCE/FRONT END INSPECTION I.C. & ELECTRIC

Description: Understand key points of scheduled maintenance and comprehensive inspection to thoroughly inspect the front end components of a lift truck, for wear and damage. Classes will concentrate on making sure all Planned Maintenance steps are covered on I.C. engine and electric forklifts.

Skills Taught/Student will be able to:

  • Completing a thorough front-end inspection of all major components.
  • Determine what needs to be repaired or replaced.
  • Explain to the customer why action should be taken to repair or replace these items.
  • Maintain & Inspecting lift trucks.
  • Identify future breakdown items.
  • Complete all planned maintenance steps as required for IC engine and electric forklifts. Other skills necessary to a road tech determined by management input prior to class

CLASS CODE 1062/1064 Carb Tier 2 Nikki Fuel System

Description: This class will cover the Nikki fuel systems on Nissan engines. This includes all functions, adjustments, and identifies all faults for the fuel system components and emission controls.

Skills Taught/Student will be able to:

  • Properly operate all truck functions using correct safety procedures.
  • Identify and explain the function of all fuel systems components.
  • Properly connect tools, adjust and complete all available tests to fuel system components.
  • Identify all faults that are stored in the fuel control system.
  • Explain what is required to repair a fuel system fault.

Prerequisites: Troubleshooting Vehicle System – 7262

Class Period:2 days

Testing: At the end of the course, the student must be able to pass a written test and demonstrate to the instructor proper troubleshooting technique. Including solving simulated faults to become Caterpillar certified to troubleshoot and repair the EPA fuel system.

 

CLASS CODE 1066/1068 Carb Tier 2 Impco/E-Controls Fuel System

Description: This class will cover the Impco/E-control fuel systems which are found on GM4.3 liter and 4G63-4G64 engines. This includes all functions, adjustments, and identifies all faults for the fuel system components and emission controls. Skills Taught/Student will be able to:

Description: This class will cover the Impco/E-control fuel systems which is found on the GM4.3 liter  Hyundai lift trucks and PowerBoss equipment. This includes all functions, adjustments, and identifies all faults for the fuel system components and emission controls.

  • Properly connect tools, adjust and complete all available tests to fuel system components.

CLASS CODE 1200 DOOSAN IC & ELECTRIC

Description: Identify all components and location on the Doosan IC and Electric trucks. Functional description of electric and hydraulic circuits used on both types of trucks. Complete description of the Woodward fuel system components with hands on monitoring and troubleshooting using the MotoViewer software program and retrieving trouble codes on board with IC trucks. Complete description of components and system operation on the electric trucks. Hands on monitoring and troubleshooting using the EyePlus software program as well as on board programming using the operator display.

Skills Taught/Student will be able to:

  • Troubleshooting and monitor fuel system using the MotoViewer software program
  • Troubleshoot and adjust parameters using the EyePlus software program
  • Calibrate and adjust parameters on board using operator display
  • Proper testing of electrical components.
  • Extensive electrical circuit testing.

CLASS CODE 1400 HYUNDAI IC & ELECTRIC TRUKS

Description: This course will teach basic fundamentals of operation and location of components used on the Electric and IC Hyundai lift trucks. Class exercise reading the electric and hydraulic schematics and familiarization with the symbols used to identify components and circuits. Functional description of the operator display, instruction with hands on practice programming on board operating parameters and teaching in all controls. IC training will include a functional description of the E Control fuel system and components. In addition, hands on training of the GCP software used to monitor and diagnose the fuel system will be given to students.

Skills Taught/Student will be able to:

  • Basic trouble shooting techniques of the Electrical and Hydraulic systems
  • Proper use of the GCP software and communication hardware
  • Programming parameters and teaching in controls with the operator display
  • Basic schematics and symbol reading for the Hyundai electric and IC trucks

CLASS CODE 1600 - BASIC ELECTRIC CONTROL SYSTEMS

Description: This course will teach the theory and fundamentals of electricity, AC/DC, CAN-bus Technology, the proper use of testing equipment, component identification and extensive testing of these components. How to read basic wiring diagrams, symbols and schematics.

Skills Taught/Student will be able to:

  • Electrical theory
  • Proper use of a multi-meter
  • Proper use of a handy man
  • Understanding of symbols and schematics
  • Electrical Component Identification and testing.

CLASS CODE 1697 - Laptop Computer Class

Description: This class will familiarize technicians on how to work their way around a computer. This class is intended to teach technicians basic computer fundamentals. This includes teaching technicians the proper way to connect diagnostic cables and access the various on-board computer systems to adjust parameters and access diagnostic codes through the laptop.

Skills Taught/Student will be able to:

  • Basic computer fundamentals.
  • Properly start-up and shut down of the operating system.
  • Navigate through various windows in the operating system.
  • How to use service manuals in (.pdf) form.

Prerequisites: none

Class Period: 1 day

Testing: At the end of the course the student must be able successfully turn on the computer and properly hook up the diagnostic cable to the suggested lift truck. Once hooked up to the lift truck the student must be able to perform the task given from the instructor.

 

CLASS CODE 1830 - AERIAL LIFT INSPECTION/PM & SAFETY

Description: This class will cover all A.N.S.I. and O.S.H.A. Regulations regarding aerial lifts students will be given standard quarterly and annual inspection sheets. Students will have hands-on exposure on all maintenance and safety issues for multiple pieces of equipment.

  • Ability to properly inspect multiple pieces of equipment.
  • Lock out and Tag out procedures.
  • OSHA and ANSI standards.
  • Properly fill out annual and frequent inspection reports.
  • Knowledge that qualifies the tech to properly inspect the equipment.

CLASS CODE 1850 - GENIE PRODUCTS

Description: This course will teach basic fundamentals of operation, troubleshooting, and proper repair on a variety of various Genie units. Also covered is all preventative, quarterly and annual inspection. All safety related issues according to A.N.S.I. and O.S.H.A. standards will also be covered.

Skills Taught/Student will be able to:

  • Basic trouble shooting techniques.
  • Proper use of tooling and gauges.
  • Basic schematics and symbol reading.

CLASS CODE 1916 - MCFA PRODUCTS WITH MICRO COMMAND A/C DRIVE

Description: Identify all components of A/C drive and hydraulic systems; understand systems operation of A/C drive and hydraulic systems. This includes instruction and hands on experience using the laptop computer and operator display to troubleshoot and make parameter changes to the truck will be taught. In addition the student will take voltage and Ohm readings at all test locations. Skills Taught/Student will be able to:

  • Setting and adjusting parameters using the Diagnoser software and Display
  • Understand A/C theory and operation.
  • Troubleshoot using schematics.

CLASS CODE 3023 - Linde 39X MPR/Hydrostatic Axle

Description: This class will give instruction on the operation, testing and adjustments of the following systems: Hydrostatic Drive, Hydraulics, and Electrical system. Extensive instruction and Hands on experience using the laptop computer and Linde’s Pathfinder software program. To be able to change parameters, diagnose trouble codes and delete fault code history folders in the software on the laptop.

Skills Taught/Student will be able to:

  • Hydrostatic theory and operation
  • Extensive laptop programming.
  • Making minor engine adjustment.
  • Properly take pressure readings.
  • Conduct all system calibrations.

Description: Introduction to EPA Tier 4 Final and Tier 4i regulations; construction and operation of the 39X-02 and 396-02 series with emphasis on proper particle filter regeneration and timing belt methodology; construction and operation of the LHC 20 Tri Core controller; diagnostic system troubleshooting & parameter adjustments.

CLASS CODE 4220 - LIFT TRUCK HYDRAULICS

Description: Explore hydraulic theory fundamentals, identify hydraulic components, their use and recognize components in their schematic form. Classroom exercises include: Reading and following flow on a hydraulic schematic, Exercises in testing hydraulic pumps and various components on a hydraulic system, Troubleshooting various areas of different hydraulic systems using all testing equipment, Tear down and inspection of the hydraulic components used on lift trucks to identify causes of failure, whether to rebuild or replace. 5) Lab adjustments of various valves.

CLASS CODE 7262 - TROUBLESHOOTING VEHICLE SYSTEMS

Description: This course will teach basic fundamentals of operation, troubleshooting, and proper repair on a variety of various lift truck engines, transmissions, hydraulic and electrical systems. Included are: LP and diesel systems, starting and charging systems, ignition systems and basic engine performance testing. Also, power shift transmission inspection, pressure tests, stall tests, and inching valve adjustment will be performed. In addition, basic lift truck hydraulic system components, schematics, basic preliminary pressure checks and analysis exercises on the lift truck will be done.

CLASS CODE 9500 - JUNGHEINRICH 3-4 WHEEL ELECTRIC TRUCKS

Description: This course will consist of information on the Electric and Hydraulic systems on the 3 and 4 wheel Jungheinrich units and also the walkie pallet unit if available. Complete coverage and hands on experience using the Judit 4 diagnostic software to troubleshoot and adjust programming parameters. Also included will be instruction on how to use the Service software Jeti (EN) and the Parts software Jeti (ET) to aid the technician in looking up service and parts information.

  • Basic trouble shooting techniques of the Electrical and Hydraulic systems
  • “Hands on practice” using the Judit 4 software and communication hardware
